Hello,

My name is C/LTC Austin Havass, and I am the Cadet Battalion Commander of Monarch High School's Army JROTC program for the 2015-2016 school year.

Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) programs in high schools help prepare students for post-secondary education, leadership and business development, as well as personal courage and extracurricular activities involvement. Here at the Knight Battalion at Monarch High School, we are embarking on our most productive year yet.

Our JROTC program is one of the best in Broward County, Florida, and we aim to be one of the best in the nation. Our cadets strive for excellence in everything that they do, and as the cadet Battalion Commander of this magnificent program, I am blessed to be in command of over 200 cadets.

Now that I am currently in my 4th year of this program that has given so much to me, I will never be able to repay the experience in both leadership and academics, however, I want to show this program how much I care about it. My cadets and I aim to send all three of our teams to the National Competitions (Raiders or Physical Fitness, Drill or Synchronized Stepping/Spinning Rifles, and Marksmanship, or Olympic sanctioned pellet shooting). These teams have all reached County and Florida State Championships in the past as well. We also aim to host our annual Military Ball, and various extracurricular activities. Our cadets fundraise and fundraise for years to achieve these goals, some knowing that they will never be able to attend.

Setting up this GoFundMe, I ask any of you, from all walks of life, to help support my cause in making the Knight Battalion enjoy their best year ever, because nothing would mean more to me than to make that happen. All funds are provided to our Booster Club, headed by the owner of this page.
