It is so rare that Mondo Mike is the only known person on the planet right now with this particular type of cancer.
Mike’s battle with cancer began in December of 2015 when he noticed a small lump underneath his left jaw. As months passed, the lump started to get bigger, and in June of 2016, Mike went to the doctor.
After a month filled with CT scans, PET scans, oncologist visits, and paperwork, doctors diagnosed Mike with Head and Neck Cancer and Oropharyngeal Cancer on July 25, 2016. Doctors gave him a treatment plan that includes removal of his left tonsil, a neck dissection, chemo, and radiation.
Mike knows that he has a battle ahead of him, but he also knows and believes that the future includes him in it. He is going to fight for his family, friends, and future.
