Monica Lujan for SUHSD

My name is Monica Trejo Lujan and I am running for a seat on the Salinas Union High School District Board.  I was born and raised in
Salinas.  I am a proud product of this district,
having graduated from El Sausal Middle
School and Alisal High School.  My confidence in the district is so strong that my own
children attended the same schools.  I have
worked in the dental field over twenty-two
years, focusing on children’s dentistry.  As a
working mother, I know how difficult it is to
stay involved at school and keep up with the
ever-evolving education system. While they
were in school, I volunteered endless hours as the Boosters President in order to try to
understand the school system.  I believe that a school board must be responsive and
receptive to parents, staff, students, and the
community. Now that my children have
graduated, I have time to dedicate myself to
the high demands of a trustee position. My
heart is with the youth; their voices will guide my decision-making.  I hope I can count on
your support and
vote.
