Hi, my name is Erika Hofmann. I am Monika's sister. On Tuesday night March 12th Monika was involved in a serious bike accident. She was hit from behind while biking home from the rock climbing gym. The driver was believed to be in a stolen vehicle and fled the scene, leaving Monika trapped under the car. She is in the hospital now and stable. She sustained many injuries that will require several surgeries, physical therapy, rehab, etc. She is in positive spirits (all things considered) but will have a lengthy recovery.

Although we don't know the extent, she will likely have a lot of medical expenses as a result of this terrible accident. I would like to set up a fund for her to help relieve any financial burden in addition to her healing process.

We want to thank everyone who has already reached out to support her and the individuals who helped on the night of the accident. Monika (and her family) are very thankful for your kindness, love and support. If you feel compelled to contribute financially, you can do that here.

On another note, if you have any information about the accident such as information about the driver, video footage, etc. we would really appreciate your help. Please send any information to the contact information included on this GoFundMe page. Thank you!
