Tristen, a true cowboy

Donation protected

Current:
We all know Tristen has been fighting for so long. Unfortunately his body just can’t keep up anymore. He has been in the ICU for the last week and will be going home on hospice. As excited as were that he made it through the surgery and it gave us high hopes, the Drs feel this is it. They don’t believe we have more than a maybe a few months with him left. His heart and kidneys are to weak. Monique is trying to make arrangements to be able to be home for the enforceable future so she can be with him. As much as we are praying for another miracle, we are also trying to be realistic. If you have it in your hearts to donate or share. I will also be setting up a meal train idea, Tristen holds a special place in my heart and I am at a loss of all the things at the moment. So any input it appreciated. Please feel free to reach out with any feedback. We thank you all!

November 2023:
Tristen was diagnosed last week with an aggressive form of squamous cell carcinoma. It only appeared about 2 weeks ago and today we saw the specialist that will perform his surgery. Tristen will be having major surgery that will require removal of most of his tongue, many lymph nodes and tissue. He will be on a feeding tube along with a trach for sometime after surgery, while his body adjusts to his new normal. He will have to learn to talk, swallow, etc again. This is only to remove what they can of the cancer and make him more comfortable. It’s a lot to go through just to have more comfort.

Monique, Tristen’s mom is the soul provider, and caretaker for Tristen. She obviously will be needing to take time off work to be able to be with him.

Tristen was originally diagnosed with Leukemia at 2 years old. He went through chemotherapy, full body radiation and then a bone marrow transplant. Years after what felt like endless treatments, medications, and praying he went into remission.

Tristen has always had a love for animals but found a true love for horses a few years back. He has since been involved with rodeos, the amazing Golden Circle group through the San Bernardino County Sheriffs Department. He helps inspire other kids fighting childhood cancer.

Being diagnosed with cancer again at such a young age is so heartbreaking.
Tristen has been through so much. We don’t know what the future holds for him but being able to give his mom some relief over the next few months so she can be with him through this time will make a huge difference.
Monique has organized many fundraisers and helped so many other families over the years. She has given selflessly to so many. If you can help please do. They will also be needing help with the animals. If you are a lover of puppies, dogs, chickens, pigs or horses and would like to volunteer to help with feeds, mucking stalls, etc. that would be a great help too.
