Monroe Police GA -Capt Matthews Kidneys Transplant

Capt. Mike Matthews age 54 has been a loyal and faithful employee with the City of Monroe Police Department since January 1994. He has held many roles within the department and served the citizens of this community for the past 20+ years. Unfortunately, his health has caused him to have a break in his employment to reach his ultimate goal of retirement. Capt. Matthews attempted to medically retire in 2017  but was denied disability benefits. At that time he had stage four kidney disease and had to have a pacemaker. He is awaiting two kidney transplants but suffered additional medical complications. He’s currently hospitalized awaiting heart surgery in a local area hospital. Any and all support to assist Capt. Mike Matthews on his road of recovery and debt relief would greatly be appreciated.
