Help Montini '77 & friends: Honor Kristin's Memory

As friends of Kristin Johnson Delpierre from the Montini High School class of '77, we are deeply, deeply saddened to hear of Kris’ passing on December 2, 2024. She passed away in her sleep at home with her family in Houghton, MI

We knew her as Kris, Kristin, Krissy, Pebbles (why, we don’t recall?) and someone even called her Gretel. All were terms of endearment. She could light up a room with her smile, enthusiasm and sense of adventure.

We ordered a lovely floral arrangement from the funeral home, knowing that most of us are too far away to attend Kris's services in Houghton. MI.

BUT as we thought more about Kris and the 7 years that she was battling a rare cancer of the small intestine, we realized that flower, while beautiful, are fleeting. And there was SO much that her husband Louis and sons Zak and Victor did for her in those 7 years that we would have liked to help them with…. We realized the enormous costs of burial services first, and then thought about the many medical expenses along the way, especially those in her final weeks. Lou was her primary care giver, and anytime a treatment could be continued at home it was. If he could drive her back and forth rather than her be hospitalized, he did. She didn’t really like the hospital stays, she wanted to be home. Many times that resulted in lost wages for him, but what Kris needed was all that mattered. You didn’t need to be in Michigan to see his love and devotion to Kristin, you could SEE IT FROM SPACE!

Realizing that Kristin has friends ALL OVER the place who loved her and will miss her terribly, not just in Illinois by Montini. We know we ALL want to honor our memories of Kristin in our happier times and we invite ALL to support her family as they begin the journey of adjusting to life without their wife, mother and biggest fan.

The first $355 raised will go to cover a floral arrangement at Kristin’s services at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church on 12/11/2024.

BUT will you help us raise money to offset some of the many expenses the family has had during Kristin’s cancer journey? And help Louie and the boys out with the expenses?
