Mooney McIntyre Boston Marathon Fund
Donation protected
I am running to raise funds for the Mooney McIntyre Fund that was named in honor of my grandfather and his late good friend Bob McIntyre. Bob McIntyre and Frank Mooney served as Executive Directors of the Massachusetts State Track Coaches Association. The fund was established with the proceeds from the 20th-anniversary celebration of the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center. The purpose of the fund is to have money available to help the facility buy or repair equipment that was not part of the facility's annual budget. An example might be the purchase of new starting blocks, a high jump pit, or any other equipment needed to operate the hundreds of high school track meets hosted by the Center safely. All expenditures must be approved by the Mooney McIntyre Fund Committee upon formal request from the director of the Reggie Lewis Center. The committee is made up of members of the Mooney and McIntyre families, the Mass Track and Field Officials, members of the Mass State Track Coaches Association. The money is managed by the Boston Foundation and the annual interest from the fund is what are to be distributed annually to cover those costs. The principle of this fund cannot be spent.
I am honored to raise money to support this fund as I grew up seeing my grandfather's commitment to providing resources for the state-wide high school track and field community to make the sport enjoyable for all.
