Moonshine Farm Lost Their Flock

Hi - Our names are Brooke Storti and Ashley Phillips and with the help and support of family, good friends and customers of Moonshine Farm, we'd like to help get the Vadakin Family back on track.

On the night of May 4th, an animal (fox, coyote, who knows) took out almost all of Hailey's chicken flock. Hailey, the owner and farmkeeper reports "Sadly, Moonshine Farms 2023 egg season is over before it began. Something dug into my chicken yard and killed almost my entire laying flock over night. These ladies were the production of 5 years of breeding to produce the most beautiful chickens and eggs. To say my heart is broken is an understatement. My 2 lovely roosters and a handful of hens survived this massacre."

While losing farm animals is common, Hailey had made many PRE-ventative measures, and losing as many as she did was both a loss in time and money from building her lovely flock of chickens but it also significantly impacts her summer income, selling eggs all season long, but at a particularly loss over the summer. Her financial loss is not insignificant at between $200-$500 a week.

Hailey is a Berkshire native, runs an animal (dog and cat) day care and boarding business, is a bad ass equestrian, a generous and caring friend, wife, and mother, even adding to her 'people' flock by lovingly adopting in to her large family. She gives back to the community regularly and is well loved by her clients. She creates, designs, builds, and repairs everything on the farm with her own two hard working hands.

Although she is in agreement to let us do this for her, asking for help is not Hailey's style. She is humbled and so appreciative of the thought anyone donating even in a small way to help her through the summer and help rebuild her flock, many of which were exoctic breeds.
