Moose Goose Larsen going blind.

Hi, my name is Nicole Larsen and I am fundraising because my guy moose is going blind in his left eye and needs surgery. About 4 months ago I started to notice an opacity in Moose's left eye, as well as him rubbing his eyes a lot and some mood changes, so I brought him to the vet. They told me they could not be certain what it was and referred us to an ophthalmologist in Buffalo, NY. I Brought moose to the specialist to find out that he has a cataract in his left eye. Moose is only 2 years old making him a juvenile patient with cataracts. This means that it is a genetic condition and the right eye runs a risk of forming a cataract in his life as well. In 4 months the cataract has progressed so much that it is covering the front of his lens. Moose was prescribed eyedrops for the inflammation, he will likely be on them for the rest of his life. If surgery is not performed he runs the risk of glaucoma, detached retinas, diabetes, allergic reactions to the cataract and persistent inflammation.
Phacoemulsification surgery is the method that is used to remove cataracts. This method involves the use of ultrasound to break up the cataractous lens so that the plastic artificial lens can be placed. Once this surgery is performed he can never get a cataract in his left eye again.
The funds that are being raised are solely for the surgery and his visits after the surgery. The surgery is just about 5,000 dollars. Then his postoperative appointments are 1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month, 2 months, 4 months and then 6 months which run about 250 dollars an appointment.
Moose has not been himself and has had mood swings due to the inflammation in his eye and the overall pain this causes. All moose wants to do is be able to catch the frisbee without losing sight of it. I just want to see him as happy as he was before the cataract. Everyone knows that golden retrievers are clumsy dogs and I can't imagine what he would be like without his vision... He already walks into things as is. Moose and I really appreciate any amount that can be donated any little amount helps.
Thank you all so much for taking the time to read this and being on this journey with moose and I.

" I can see clearly now the cataract is gone" - Moose singing it into existence.
