Mordican House Fire in Russet Woods Community
Donation protected
Your Russet Woods Community Homeowner's Association - RWHOA was alerted about a house fire on Guyton Road this afternoon.
Chyna and Antoine Mordican's house on Guyton Road caught fire on Sunday afternoon while the entire family was home. The Mordican's have ADT Security and received a call from ADT alerting them of a possible fire. The family did not see anything. Then a few minutes later ADT called back, and Antoine did see the smoke coming from the chimney. Hoover Fire was called and arrived in about 5 minutes. The family and pets were all able to escape unharmed.
We spoke with Hoover Fire Captain Tim Lawson at the scene. Captain Lawson said that Hoover Fire has already mobilized the Red Cross to take care of immediate needs. Hoover Fire also works with a company to secure the house and cover any openings.
We also spoke with the fire inspector and the cause is still undetermined.
We want to give a shoutout to Hoover Mayor Frank Brocato for taking time to visit the Mordican's during this hard time.
The Russet Woods Community Homeowner's Association - RWHOA is also thankful for Stephanie Brown Vaughn and Pam Mcconnell Roberts for organizing the donations for clothing and other immediate needs.
As you drive by, you will not immediately be able to see the damage. The chimney is at the back of the house. The entire living room and kitchen ceilings have caved in from the water used in the attic. The house is unlivable, and the entire roof will likely have to be removed and replaced.
Chyna and Antoine have 3 young children and need our help.
We have organized a GoFundMe for this sweet family.
Chyna also has Zelle: [phone redacted] and Cashapp: $chynamordican.
Please consider helping this family get back on their feet!
