Moreno-Cornejo Emergency Legal Fund

On September 23, 2020, ICE picked up our community member, Alejandro Moreno. Alejandro was being held in PDX, en route to NWRC in Tacoma WA. Alejandro is the sole income provider for his family.
Alejandro's family includes three young sons, including one with a seizure disorder. Their mother, Jasmine Cornejo-Moreno, worked for many years at A Kidz Dental Zone in The Dalles, but had to give up her position about two years ago to care for her oldest son as he was being diagnosed at OHSU with Febrile Infection Related Epilepsy Syndrome (FIRES). Soon after, Alejandro and Jasmine celebrated the birth of their third son, who is now a toddler. The family exhausted their financial resources during this time and was grateful for the community support generated by friends, the boys' school, Chenowith Elementary, and a GoFundMe fundraiser created by A Kidz Dental Zone.
Jasmine did not expect to need help again for a new crisis, just two years later. The family is accessing community resources for food, but still need to pay the bills while Alejandro is detained. They also need to hire an immigration attorney to help the family get Alejandro back.
This fund will be used to pay the family's bills and legal expenses while they navigate the immigration system to return Alejandro to the family. Truly anything you can give would be greatly appreciated. At this point every dollar counts for this family. (Please know that the family has access to donated funds while this campaign is still going. They do not have to wait to meet the goal, which is an estimate of legal expenses.)
