Gift for Morgan to treat herself after surgery!

I wanted to do something for Morgan! With your help I would like to be able to give Morgan something after her surgery. Having cancer at any age is scary and a big deal, let alone at 13! She asked me this past weekend if she could get an I survived cancer shirt and of coarse I told her ABSOLUTELY! I think she deserves a little more! Many people have asked what they can do or offered their help and we are so thankful! We don’t need money as a family so this would 100 percent be for Morgan to save or buy herself a little something special after she overcomes this bump in the road.

What has been going on…..

I am posting this with Morgan’s permission. About 2 months ago Morgan got family pictures done with her dad. We noticed her neck looked odd in the photo. She had said that she had this bump on her neck for about 6 months with no other symptoms so she didn’t say anything. We cant figure out how we didn’t notice it! We actually now have seen it in pictures as far back as a year ago! We got her into the dr right away and after 2 months of different tests ultrasound, cat scan with contrast, needle biopsy, and molicular testing of the biopsy results it was determined that she has follicular thyroid cancer. You think you prepare yourself for the worst but when you hear someone tell you that your child has cancer nothing can prepare you for that. The emotions and fear are indescribable, but yet we have to be strong for her.

We got her into Luries children’s hospital for the surgery. She will be having surgery next Thursday the 23rd and they will be removing half of her thyroid along with the almost 4mm nodule that has been growing on it. Hopefully they will be able to save the other half but after testing the part they remove they will determine if they will need to go back in and remove the rest of the thyroid.
