Morgan’s Breast Augmentation

Donation protected
For those who don’t know me, my name is Morgan and I am 27 years old with a genetic lung disease called Cystic Fibrosis.
Over the years I’ve been battling with my health and constantly struggling to keep weight on due to my chronic illness. But thanks to getting approved for a medication (Trikafta) back in 2021, my overall health condition drastically improved and saved my life.

Cystic Fibrosis has taken a lot from me over the years but now I am finally able to live a life that was impossible growing up. Since the hospital was practically my second home for the majority of my life, I missed out on a lot of things. Which in turn led to bullying, unstable friendships/relationships, and extreme lack of self confidence due to being “different”.

Being a person with something like CF, it really takes a toll on not only your physical health but as well as your mental health… especially being a young woman who is unable to naturally grow into a “woman” like figure.

A breast augmentation surgery is something that I’ve thought about ever since I was 14 because I knew that it just wasn’t going to be in my favour to grow that way and it really took a toll on me.
I don’t expect anyone to fully understand where I’m coming from but this procedure means way more than just getting “boobs”… it’s a gender affirming surgery for me that I wasn’t blessed with.

Not only is this process expensive but it has also unbelievably difficult to try and find a surgeon to approve me here in Canada due to me being considered a high risk patient.
There were multiple surgeons who wouldn’t even consider talking to me once they knew I had Cystic Fibrosis which started to discourage me even more.
But luckily I got in contact with a plastic surgeon from Denver, Colorado that was more than willing to discuss my case and communicated that she was more than capable of taking me in as a patient.
Considering I am high risk, that means I can’t undergo general anesthesia; but this plastic surgeon has a much safer sedation option for patients like myself.

Unfortunately this option is not available where I’m from and overall makes the entire experience much more expensive than I originally planned. But Dr. Emmett assured me that not only does she have 10+ years general surgery experience prior to plastic surgery, but she also has worked with CF patients as well.
Which has put my mind a lot more at ease considering how daunting it is knowing I’ll be in a completely different country for this.

With that being said, I have made this gofundme in hopes to educate someone who may need it, spread awareness about my situation and hopefully get some of the expenses covered.
My surgery is booked for May 1st and I’ll be staying in Denver from April 27th-May 9th to ensure sure that everything goes smoothly post op.

All the funds will be going towards my flights, food/accommodations and the surgery itself that is 11,000USD (which will be converted to CAD dollars)
