"Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can." Arthur Ashe

Since my childhood, I dreamed of travelling to a sub-developed country and to help orphan children in their development and daily lives. I had the amazing opportunity to do so in August 2019, when I travelled to Kenya and spent the month of August at The Morning Star Children Home. During my time there I had the privilege of being part of these children's lives and I realised how real the struggle is to fund the day to day expenses for the thirty children hosted at the orphanage.
Stephen and Beatrice have founded the orphanage in 2006 and have been working hard on this beautiful project since then, aiming to provide these kids with a real home, filled with love and joy.
At normal times, the orphanage largely relies on people contributing with food, clothes and other necessities, however, with COVID-19 restrictions this has not been possible and the home has faced enhanced challenges to provide food day-to-day. Also, volunteers cannot travel there to help and more children have been added to the orphanage.
There is a need not only to fund the food and accommodation costs, but also the children's school fees. I will be running every day for the full month of lockdown in England (4 Nov- 2 Dec) to raise funds for these children and your support will mean the World to me. You can support us by funding, sharing this page or by joining me in this running challenge! Let's support these kids, particularly during this difficult time.
Would you like to meet some of children you will be supporting? I would love to share two of the stories with you now :).
1. Caleb - Caleb is now three months old. He has been at the orphanage since he was six days old and requires full-time babysitting and care. There is a great need for funds to buy his milk, as he needs four tins per week. The monthly cost of his milk alone is around £150 per month.

2. Princess - This beautiful girl is six years old, she was taken to the orphanage by the children's department at the hospital, as she was abused by her father. The father has been arrested and Princess is very traumatised and receiving counselling.

Please join me, as I run every day for the full month of lockdown in England, to raise funds for these children. I will be sharing frequent updates on my Instagram page - inspired.by.l8ve.
Thank you for reading my page, stay safe and God bless you <3
