Moroccan woman living in fear for being gay!
Donation protected
Hello everyone, my name is Charlotte and I am raising funds on behalf of a dear friend of mine who is from Morocco.
Niama is a 24-year-old female, living in secret of her sexual identity!
In Morocco it is illegal to be gay, Niama's family does not accept her sexuality, they are planning to organize an arranged marriage for her.
Niama has moved away from her family and lives alone in the mountains, where she teaches French and Arabic in a small school.
Niama is worried for her future, she is under threat of being exposed and being physically hurt, there are many cases in Morocco of people being outed and attacked, beaten and raped.
Life here in Morocco for Niama is a sad one, she can not live in peace and be her true self, she is suppressed and not able to live a free life as she deserves.
I am helping Niama raise funds to support her for the first few months when she gets to Europe to seek asylum.
Everyone deserves to live and love who they choose, I myself am a gay woman from London and I find it hard to sleep at night knowing Niama is in a country where her life is in danger because of her sexuality.
Please if you can donate to support Niama on this very difficult journey, it's not going to be easy for her to leave Morocco but she has no other options. When Niama gets to Europe she will have to pay for temporary accommodation, food, transportation costs to the country she will be seeking asylum and legal representation.
Everything donated will go towards Niama starting a new life, please support this young woman to gain the freedom she so rightly deserves!
