Morrigan's GRS Fund - Please Help Guillopeen 2022
Hi, I'm Arya Morrigan a Northern Ireland based trans woman. Im a rabid supporter of improvements to Trans Healthcare and have been an active member of the trans community in Belfast for around 2 years now.
So like alot of trans people in Northern Ireland. Ive been stuck on the waiting list for the Gender Identity Clinic which hasn't moved in a long ass time. In the meantime ive been perfectly happy to access private healthcare despite the financial costs.
Ive always seen myself as nonbinary and i thought for a long ass time. I could do without bottom surgery but as ive progressed in my transition the past yr, going full time and starting a new job. My genital dysphoria has massively increased to the point where I dont want to have a penis anymore, so i'd like help getting that sorted.
Problem, turns out getting a pussy installed is incredibly expensive and while i can afford some of the costs consultations and surgery referrals, Im gonna need some help to one fund the surgery itself and allow me to live comfortably while i recover for 3 - 6 months while im unable to work.
Ive chosen to travel to london for my bottom surgery, and to have it at the Parkside hospital with either Dr Bellringer or Miss Tina Rashid https://www.parkside-hospital.co.uk/services/gender-identity-service/ as they give me what im looking for and i feel that due to mental health reasons travelling to Thailand my other choice i considered on my own or with friends is very much unforeseeable compared to us getting a flight to London Heathrow and chilling in an airbnb for a few weeks instead while i have my initial recovery.
So the costs of the surgery, I got an initial quote for £15000 pounds. The majority of the fundraiser is for that. Around £1200 is to cover travel and recovery costs in London after the surgery for me and potentially some friends to keep me company while im off my tits on heavy duty painkillers and housebound for two weeks. the other £3k is just a windfall for me to be able to live and recover comfortably while im on sick pay from my job for 3 months, where i hope to return part time and then 6 months in go back full time. My job is physically demanding hence the return part time then moving to full time gradually as i recover.
Honestly, i don't even expect this to get any money, at all. Im just doing it cause I Don't see any other option to getting bottom surgery in the next few years otherwise. If it was somehow successful potentially late 2021 or early 2022 is my general plan.
Honestly, UK trans healthcare is incredibly dehumanising and stressful. The waiting lists arent moving and like every other trans person in Northern Ireland not having an operating gic means, i probably otherwise would be waiting 5+ yrs atm to even be seen for the first time. Nevermind navigate the system long enough to get referrals for surgery. On this note, Im done, ive been out for 2 yrs, Ive done my Real life experience. I just want surgery now so i can move on with my life and be done with most of the medical side of my transition.
Thanks Arya Morrigan
