Morris Lamrock Cancer Healing wSusie Anne Bartsch
Donation protected
I'm fundraising for Morris Lamrock and his family – his wife, Susie Anne Bartsch, and their 17-year-old daughter, Jessie. Morris was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma just over three weeks ago, after months of accelerating symptoms. This skin cancer has spread through his body, particularly into his bones and organs. It's at an advanced stage, and the family has been through a lot to get a diagnosis. Morris has been unable to work for months and was in near-constant pain until doctors could intervene.
The emotional and physical stress on the whole family has been enormous. Susie Anne and Jessie, friends and family, have been with Morris every step of the way. Initial emergency room visits...tests...specialists...weight loss...more tests...no appetite...Vancouver hospitals...serious mobility issues...more specialists...more tests...more weight loss...
The past few weeks (mid to late May) have been hopeful. Morris is responding well to a new treatment called Targeted Therapy – pills administered at home! – but there's a long road ahead.
The family is burdened financially. They are currently sharing Mo’s part-time salary while he's on sick leave. Susie Anne is providing daily care for Morris. She has lost considerable income while stepping back from her paid work and having just got her father into long-term care in January after a four-year marathon. We can help.
Please give what you can to help Morris, Susie Anne and Jessie deal with this truly challenging time and situation. If we can help them cover expenses for four to six months, we will be making their complex situation a lot simpler. And plenty kinder.
The family is incredibly grateful to the many people who have already given generously of their time and resources.
Thanks.
