Baruch Hashem, we have a Kosher Eruv in Morristown!
This was a community achievement through and through. Do you live in Morristown? Are you Jewish? If so, this is your Eruv!
A hefty sum was raised here on GoFundMe for the construction, which was extensive, halachically meticulous, and in the end cost even more than we initially raised! Thanks to donations from the Jewish Federation of GMW and Morristown Medical Center, we were just able to meet our initial costs.
Now, it's time to give the Morristown Eruv an endowment! This is important for:
- Having people well-versed in the relevant Halachos who check the Eruv weekly
- Having a Rabbi on call as the Rav HaMachshir
- Periodic checking by expert Rabbis
- Investing in capable and Halachically educated repairmen
- Investing in materials and construction methods that make the Eruv reliable and sustainable
- Taking proactive measures to prevent emergency repair issues, like tree trimming
- Maintaining a website, email system, and SMS messages to provide weekly status updates
- Organizing events to spread Eruv awareness
Without a proper endowment, the Eruv cannot last and expand. Now that the Eruv is up, you might assume that funding is not necessary anymore. But an endowment is absolutely crucial to maintain our viability! Please give generously.
