Make the Morrow Road Movie!

Donation protected
Morrow Road has been a journey for the filmmakers behind its intimidating challenge from its inception. After various business model considerations and attempts, the correct fit was finally found! This smaller budget model, as it turns out, has other advantages too--including opening the doors to community support!

The film's creator Francis J Sampier has had the tenacity to continue pushing the project forward in the right direction. He has also protected the film from being produced by methods that place speed over quality. (i.e. a film shot generically as opposed to creatively, as well as keeping all the 'difficult to produce' scenes intact instead of watering them down visually and/or deleting them). Francis has maintained and will continue to maintain the project's integrity and will not be intimidated by the 'Hollywood' cookie-cutter method.

The Morrow Road film has all the needed ingredients of the horror genre but doesn't stop there: Morrow Road has much more depth than similar film types. It spans into the suspense and mystery genres by incorporating all ten real-life theories of what happened to the mother and child who disappeared in 1893. The film also has a dark psychological side that will stir the viewers long after the end credits. There is a message behind the film and some concepts explored that go beyond the basic horror elements.

However, these storywriting factors come with a cost: A higher budget than a basic horror film. About 20% of the film takes place in the late 1800s. Even the film's opening is set in 1957. Period piece films are pricier to pull off. Good news: Morrow Road's script utilizes these historic scenes efficiently. All other quality business models we explored place this film's budget in the seven-digit realm, but we have cautiously figured out a method that gets the movie into the budget-friendlier six-digit figure--without sacrificing the film's needed storytelling quality.

This brings us to why you're here: The film's current status and how you can be a part of history by contributing to making this Midwestern American legend (and one of Michigan's oldest legends). Before you truly consider donating (or investing), we highly suggest watching our funding campaign video above. (We periodically update it to show our progress, which has been great!) The video educates you much more on the film, including highlights of its cast, crew, locations and business model.

If you want to immerse yourself in MORE details about the film and the legend it's based on visit morrowroad.com. There you can watch concept videos, see much of the film's artwork and learn more about why many believe this will be one of the best independent films to ever come out of Michigan! The latest updates on the film can be viewed on its Facebook page: facebook.com/morrowroad

Thank you for considering helping this small-town project come to life on the big screen!
