This GoFundMe account is for my niece and her family for the damage sustained to their possessions through the hurricane winds... Allegra Rice Morton and her family who live in Corpus Christi, Texas, lost most of their belongings during Hurricane Harvey. Allegra is a music teacher and her husband, Daryn, is a firefighter for the Alice, Texas Fire Department. They have two beautiful children - Calysta and Warren. They were just about to move into a new house and had all their belongings in a small storage building Daryn had built. It was only meant to be there temporarily while they spent time in a rental house and waited to close on their new home, next Tuesday. They evacuated and while they were away the storm blew the roof off the storage building and ruined everything they had stored there. The irony of it is that when they evacuated, they got stranded there for a while, and were working to collect items for other people, not realizing they had lost so much themselves. When they got home, looking forward to taking part in the recovery efforts, they realized they had become victims themselves. They realized that all their winter clothes, wedding photos, appliances, all furniture, artwork, their mattresses, the kid's books, and all the sheet music Allegra uses to teach violin --everything that they had in storage is wet, mildewed and ruined. They also lost all the food in their fridge and freezer since the power was out So even that has to be replaced. They are devastated and overwhelmed right now. Since multiple people from around the country have asked me what they can do, I've set up a GoFundMe Account where my friends and family can donate to help Allegra, Daryn and the kids get back on their feet.
