Most Tragic Story

My name is Farida and I am the godmother of the Barbee boys and friend to their mother for the past 18 years.

The Barbee family has endured more tragedy than any family should have to live through in any lifetime. The house fire on their residence at Teramo Ct in South Reno in the early morning hours of October 20, 2023 tragically claimed the lives of their two precious boys, Davis and Travis. Their mother Delima and her husband David survived the fire but are now dealing with this devastating loss. Besides mourning their beautiful boys, they were left with nothing but the clothes on their backs and their beloved German Shepherd, Cha Cha, who is now at the animal hospital fighting for her life.

Davis was a senior at Damonte High School. He was a big boy with a big heart who loved to build Legos ever since he was a toddler. He had just put his newest Lego set together. He also loved spending time cooking with his papa, David, in the kitchen and dressing up for church every Sunday.

Travis was a student at Depaoli Middle School. He had a diagnosis of autism and was non verbal but lived his life to the fullest. He loved riding his scooter after school. His mom would always have to call him in for dinner when he was out riding for hours. He also loved playing computer games. His favorite ones were Temple Run and Minions.

Both boys loved to make people laugh and were very loving, kind and caring. They loved their dog and their mom was their world. They could never giver her enough hugs.

Delima, the mother, was diagnosed with cancer a week prior to the fire incident. She was scheduled to have the surgery done today, Monday 23rd of October at Renown Hospital.

Please help this family pay for funeral services and rebuild their life. They are having to mourn the loss of their babies while trying to survive after losing literally everything. No mother should ever have to bury her kids and suffer this immense pain. Thank you for all of your financial support during this most traumatic time.
