Mother - Daughter Hurricane relief
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Geovanna and I decided to put this together in hopes of helping my aunt and cousin, Carolina and Valeria, to get back on their feet after being impacted by Hurricane Milton a couple of days ago. They reside in a small apartment on the first floor in the heart of Tampa. Around 10 pm Wednesday night, their home began flooding and within a couple of minutes water was past their ankles. In a panic they gathered as many clothes as they could, important documents and ran upstairs seeking help in the first apartment they saw and thankfully, the neighbor was kind enough to give them refuge for the night. Although the damage could’ve been way worse, the flooding damaged their furniture, beds, clothes in the closet and other household items had to get tossed. Since hurricane Milton hit, on Wednesday they have been without power, food has been scarce, and since their small car was flooded as well and in need of repairs, they haven’t been able to get around. My aunt Carolina, who already has to work two jobs 7 days a week has not been able to return to work, loosing out an entire week’s pay. Our immediate family has come together to help but unfortunately that hasn’t been enough and the impact will continue to affect their daily lives. All funds will go to help cover basics like, food, repair of the car, new beds and bills while my aunt is out of work. You have no idea what your help means to me and my family. Thank you so much for even taking the time to read. Stay safe and God bless!
