Mother needs to get to son after bad accident...

Late in the evening of December 16th Dustin's brother Chris Frank was in a serious motorcycle accident. He is a Veteran working as a civilian in Guam and is all alone with no family. He has a broken wrist, ribs that punctured his lung, a compound fracture in his leg, and a fractured skull with a blood clot.

At first it was "if he makes it 24 hours" then "the next 24 hours are critical". He has been ventilated and sedated to help his body heal although he was able to respond when the lowered the sedation briefly with a thumbs up. He has already had to have 3 surgeries on his leg to fight infection and try to save it. He will need many more surgeries and has a long road ahead of him but he is a fighter and hanging on. The doctors say it is getting to the point that a family member needs to be there to help make decisions.

His Mom is desperate to be there but Guam is a long flight and pricey. A one way ticket is about $2500-$3000. I know it is a difficult time of year with Christmas and the recent storm, but she lives off Social Security and needs to buy food while she is there as well as help her significant other pay her own bills while she is there. At this point we have no idea how long she will be there. She is able to stay in his apartment but is unsure of funds available to help pay his expenses while there as he will be looking at an extended period of time while not working.

She has checked into Red Cross but they are overtaxed with helping immigrants. And has not heard back from any of the other agencies at this time.
