Mother of 3 - Victim of Recent Gun Violence

To our family, friends and community -

While Kendra was in Charlottesville, Virginia on October 22, 2022 with her husband, celebrating her brother-in-law’s birthday, she became an innocent victim of gun violence at the downtown mall.

In a matter of minutes, Kendra went from joyfully laughing and walking through the mall to running in terror away from the horrible sound of gunshots. Unfortunately, Kendra was struck by two bullets – one in her right upper leg and another in her lower left leg. She also suffered a fractured arm and clavicle during her fall to the ground from the gunshot wounds. Kendra spent six painful days at the University of Virginia Hospital and recently was able to return home to her husband and three children.

We have been advised Kendra will be okay and her body will heal. Thankfully, Kendra is in good spirits and progressing in her recovery journey. Being the humble family they are, Kendra and her husband have not asked for any assistance. However, we know family and friends will want to help as they recover from this terrible, unpredictable event. Let's come together to help Kendra, her husband, and three children. Funds raised will support the family to cover hospital bills/copays, transportation costs for upcoming appointments, medical supplies, physical therapy and lost wages so they can focus on healing - mind, body and spirit.
