Help a Mother of Two Get Life-Saving Treatment

Donation protected
Janine Pedersen, mother of two, was diagnosed with cancer last summer. The cancer was found to be an invasive ductal carcinoma, a form of Stage 2 breast cancer with a very serious prognosis.

Janine and her husband Paul are fighting for her life, and also for their family. For her to see her daughter go to senior prom, and see her son learn to drive. She is determined to continue in the role of mom to her children and wife to Paul who rely on their very close-knit family unit so much, and she dreams to see their kids continue this in their own families in the future.

Paul and Janine grew up in South Africa and came to America almost 7 years ago to offer a better life for their family. They are now living in The Woodlands, TX with their daughter Rebecca (15) and son Benjamin (12).

You probably don’t know many people who fight as fiercely for their family as the Pedersens! They’ve been giving it everything they’re got for over a year, from surgery to major lifestyle changes such as a severely restricted diet, and everything in-between.

Despite all the efforts, the cancer has metastasized (spread) to other parts of her body. Cancer tumors have been found in Janine’s brain, bones, liver and lungs.

And now, there is NO MORE TIME TO WAIT.

The doctors at The Burzynski Clinic: Advanced Integrative Cancer Treatment Center in Katy, TX are excited to start a treatment for her of Personalized Medicine which uses conventional therapies, approved targeted therapies as well as Antineoplastons.

One way to describe how it works is that it tells cancer cells to die, and tells healthy cells to stay alive and fight.

The doctors have cleared Janine to start AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

This treatment is NOT covered by insurance, and the out-of-pocket cost is $17-20,000 per month for 8-10 months. Including tax, the total cost is estimated to be upward of $270,000 (cost breakdown is below).

Janine KNOWS she can KICK THIS CANCER! But she and Paul need your help. They need to start treatments before NOVEMBER 1st.

Time is running out and the medical bills are on their way. Very soon, they will be piling up. The pressure on an already traumatized family has already been really tough.

We are asking you to help them. Help be part of Janine’s miracle and help her continue to bless the lives of others. Help her continue to be there for her children and be there to hold her future grandbabies.

The clinic is about 50 miles from their house, and there are toll road fees along the way.

Besides the expenses directly related to treatments, there are many “hidden” costs associated with a prolonged illness. For example, having to buy more prepared meals or order takeout more often; paying for help with housekeeping; and other potential unknown medical costs.

With so much money for treatments, there’s not always enough left for usual expenses like house payments, or the school activities that preserve some sense of feeling normal.

How Your Donation Helps
$20 helps with the cost of gas & toll roads, and means we need 13,500 generous donors
$100 helps pay for clinic visit office fee and means we need 2,700 generous donors
$500 helps pay for 1 day of treatment, and means we need 540 generous donors
$1000 helps pay for 2 days of treatment, cost of living, and means we need 270 generous donors
$5000 helps pay for treatment, cost of living, etc.

We know Paul and Janine will pay it forward. We truly believe God is in the details and wants this family to live and thrive TOGETHER and to continue to bless lives of others.

Janine’s work here on earth and in this community and wide circle of friends and strangers is not done. We have been given an incredible opportunity to help this family and see them through this challenge.

From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you so much and absolutely every dollar counts!

Sincerely,
Friends & Family of Janine Pedersen

P.S. For those of you coming alongside the Pedersens more recently, here is some of what they have experienced in the past year:

- to give Janine the best chance, they decided on an immediate mastectomy and reconstruction to remove as much cancer as possible.

- countless hours researching the most current findings on successful cancer treatment

- MRIs, CT scans

-10 days of “spot radiation” that is hyper-focused to radiate only the specific areas where the cancer is the worst on her hips and 2 vertebrae in her spine

- Gamma knife radiation for the brain to attack the multiple lesions there

- medicines, supplements and other non-invasive techniques

-sticking religiously to the healthiest cancer-fighting diet: not a lick of sugar and little to no carbohydrates could she have because of how glucose feeds cancer cells in the body

-trying to gain back dozens of pounds lost, despite the restrictive diet and loss of appetite

The Pedersen family and the doctors and medical professionals have been working to put the pieces of the puzzle together, but constrained by what is covered by medical insurance

Eventually, Janine was in so much pain, she couldn’t stand, couldn’t sit, she was in bed for months.

There have been some noticeable improvements: Janine can stand and walk, and she has even driven her car and attending some of the kids’ events through the pain. There’s still a long road ahead of them though.

Most importantly of all, she is staying mentally and spiritually strong, and has a strong prayer network supporting her.
