Destiny-Mother, wife, kidney donor, Army Vet
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Melanie and I'm trying to help my daughter as she selflessly donates her kidney to her cousin (a shreveport police officer) who is in kidney failure at the age of 24. My daughter, Destiny and her cousin, Samantha, have been the best of friends since birth. In the past few years Sams kidneys have been in decline and Destiny immediately said she would donate a kidney to her if she was a match. They did all the testing and sure enough, their bond is even stronger than we thought. She's a PERFECT match and a PERFECT candidate to donate to her so now is the time. Surgery is scheduled for May 28th. Destiny's career choice is working at Central Monument where she sales headstones to people who have lost their loved ones. A huge shout out to them for being a small locally owned company and supporting her in any way they can. Her and her husband, Cameron, are both Army vets for the National Guard. Destiny enlisted while still in high school at just 17 years old. They have 2 beautiful sons as well. They will both miss work during this time as the surgery is taking place in Houston and she will have to stay there for 2 weeks. Upon returning back home she will not be able to return to work for an additional 2-4 weeks. The sacrifice is absolutely worth it, however if they could get some help to relieve the stress during an already stressful time it would be GREATLY appreciated. If they don't have to worry about paying their bills during her recovery it will relieve a huge burden from them and allow her to heal properly before returning back to work. ANY donation is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for loving my amazing daughter ❤️
