URGENT: A Mother and Daughter on the Brink of Homelessness—Please Help!

I never thought I’d be in this position—pleading for help just to survive. But today, my daughter and I are facing the unthinkable: being forced out of our home with nowhere to go, no money, and no way to fight back.

Just days ago, my husband of 15 years served me with divorce papers. Not only does he want to end our marriage, but he’s demanding that my daughter and I leave our home immediately. The same home he moved us to—far from my career, my support system, and any chance at stability.

Four years ago, I was a successful TV Producer in California. When my husband decided to move us across the country to North Carolina for his retirement, I gave up my career to support his dream. I tried to find work, but TV jobs here are scarce, and after years of struggling, I ran out of options.

Now, after 2.5 years of unemployment, I have nothing. No savings. No credit. No income. He knew I wasn’t working, yet he demanded I pay half the mortgage until my accounts were drained. Now that I’m financially ruined, he’s throwing us out.

I have come to realize that this was his plan all along. He moved us to a place where he knew I wouldn’t have career opportunities. He ensured I had no resources. And now, he’s taking everything—leaving my daughter and me with nowhere to turn.
