Best Gift for Mom is Food for Her Girls

Tax deductible
HANDMADE BRACELETS FOR DONATIONS OVER $200!

Girls Gotta Run invests in Ethiopian girls to empower themselves through running & education in Bekoji and Soddo, Ethiopia. Our programs have a strong record of helping girls stay in school, delay marriage, and make their own life choices.

We also work with the Mothers of our Athletic Scholars, like Genesh above, with Mother's Saving Groups and through micro-grants for them to cook and serve lunch for the girls at school.

But famine and inflation in Ethiopia are real, and data shows that girls are the first to see their life choices narrow with food insecurity. Our Mothers tell us it is harder and harder to make nutritious meals. Dasi Alamu, the mother below with her GGRF daughter Ester, works as a day laborer to support her 6 children and tells us that every meal we provide takes a huge burden off her shoulders.

Will you help us provide peace of mind to the Mothers of our Athletic Scholars by contributing to our 2023 Mother's Day campaign?
  • $40 provides each of our Bekoji Athletic Scholars with lunch for one day
  • $100 will feed all of our participants in both locations lunch for one day
  • $1,000 will support one Athletic Scholar and her mother for ONE YEAR, including daily lunch, athletic gear and training, school scholarship & supplies, and access to life-changing social networks for Mother and Daughter
