Mother's Heart Uganda Fundraiser 2022
Donation protected
Welcome! You've already done an amazing thing by making your way to this page, thank you.
My name is Jake and this June, three of my best mates and I are tackling the tallest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales in aid of a developing community in Mutoto, Uganda.
In 2019 I was first welcomed to Uganda by a community Charity who emphasise the role of Women in society. They're called Mothers Heart Uganda. The group strive for equal access to education, opportunity and healthcare, pursuing this through founding a community school, The Golden Hill Academy. Here approaching 300 of Mutoto’s poorest girls and boys have equal access to primary education and are offered a free school meal everyday.
Why donate?
Whilst my friends here are the poorest I know, they are also the most generous and kind I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. I recognise my privilege as a person born in a developed country. Access to Food, Water, Education, Shelter and healthcare haven't been daily struggles in many of our lives. This couldn't be less true for nearly half of all households in Uganda, where a 2020 UNICEF report found 47% to be living in multidimensional poverty.
How we can help:
The ability we have to offer a helping hand is extraordinary! To put things in perspective, In Mutoto, only £385 would pay for a qualified teachers salary for an entire year. By supporting Education we can help empower a generation of young people to break free from the vicious cycle of poverty many are trapped in.
In September 2022 I'm heading back to Uganda! Eager to see my friends again, I'll work directly with local leaders to direct the money we raise, with Funds being split between:
- Essential resources for the school.
- Supporting the education of children most in need.
- Assisting the communities Local Women's group.
