Motorcycle Accident Leaves Family With One Income

As most of you know my dad was in a motorcycle accident and has been in the Trauma ICU ever since. He was riding his motorcycle on July 1st in Dickson County and a car was over the line in his lane. He moved over to the right side of the road to avoid being hit head on and hit gravel. It threw him into huge rocks in a ditch. When he hit it ripped his back and his lung was hanging outside of his back. He crawled out of the ditch and tried to wave down multiple cars. He was life-flighted to the hospital where they did surgery to clean out all of the debris and rocks from inside his body. The cut starts from his arm all the way to the other side of his spine. The doctors say it is a miracle his spine was not severed. His injuries include a broken collar bone, 4 broken ribs, neck fractures, multiple back fractures, collapsed lung (the one that was on the outside), a broken nose and broken foot. Because of the trauma his gastrointestinal system stopped working which has resulted in a bowel obstruction which caused him to vomit and now has aspiration pneumonia. He has also developed a blood clot in his non collapsed lung.

He works construction and his place of employment does not offer disability benefits. My parents, like so many others, live paycheck to paycheck and since the accident my mom has missed a lot of work. He has been in the hospital since and has a long road to recovery. They have estimated him being out of work for at least six months. Leaving my mom trying to pay not only the hospital bills but her other monthly bills as well off of her income alone. Please please please, if you can donate anything at all to help my mom out while my dad is in recovery it would be more than appreciated. All proceeds go directly to my mom to help her out. They are the kind of people who would give the shirt off their back to help someone else & have taken in many people who have needed shelter in their times of need.
