CAN YOU HELP US TO IMPROVE CHILDREN’S LIFE IN THIS LITTLE CORNER OF MOTTINGHAM
It’s at the side of a football club’s sports ground and everyone just calls it the Park on Foxes Field. At first glance, it doesn’t appear that special, but for parents of young children, it’s a green oasis in the middle of the hurly burly of urban life in Mottingham.
It is basically the only children’s play park in Mottingham: a safe space for children to enjoy playing together, developing their physical and social abilities as well as having a huge positive impact on mental health. It also offers a space for parents, carers, family and friends to connect.
The park serves a large area of the community, yet, as much as the children adore it, it is very tired and in desperate need of some loving care and improvements so the community can get even more from it. Now we have a great opportunity to make this happen.
We are a group of local Mottingham residents and parents applying for a £20,000 grant to transform the park. The grant is part of the Jubilee Parks Fund focused on improving community green spaces.
As part of our application we need to fundraise a minimum of £500, with all the money raised going towards the play park. We want to raise much more than that if we can, so that we can make significant improvements to the park.
For example, it has equipment, but we are trying to buy new items to entertain children of all ages, to fix broken equipment and to acquire some picnic benches that will be wonderful for families to enjoy in the shade of the trees in the summer.
For this small amount of money we can turn this wonderful, magical little park into something even more special, a place for residents and families to love and appreciate.
Anything you can do to help us would be amazing! Thank you!!
