Mount Kilimanjaro climb for Nicola Graves

Hi everyone, thanks for taking the time out to have a look at my page.

For those of you that don’t know, back on 1st May this year me and my family unexpectedly lost my Uncle Mikey at a young age of just 41. As you can imagine this has had a devastating impact on us all, leaving behind his parents, siblings, aunties & uncles, nieces and nephews, friends…you get the picture. Most heartbreaking of all he has left behind his beautiful wife Nicola, and 3 sons Alfie, Frankie and Archie.

In December 2022 Nicola was diagnosed with breast cancer, and since then she has unfortunately been in the wars with her health, undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy to try and battle with this horrible disease. All the treatment seemed to work its magic and Nicola got the good news we were all hoping for, she got told the cancer had gone. Then in May this year the day after my Uncle Mikeys funeral she was told that the cancer had come back in her breast, and then just last week she was devastatingly told that the cancer has spread to her lungs..we all know what this means.

Due to the deterioration of my Auntie Nicola’s health she is obviously unable to work, times are hard enough for us all at the moment but you can imagine how difficult it is being a mum to your children after just losing your partner, emotionally and of course financially.

On Friday 16th August I will be travelling to Tanzania in Africa with a monumental task ahead of me, Hiking 5985 metres to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro.

There is never a good time to ask for money, but in this instance I am more than happy to do so for my family. Please help me in raising funds to make my Aunties life that little bit easier financially, money isn’t going to change anything that has happened to my family in the last 3 months, but it can certainly make the future a little brighter for Nicola and her boys.

This will be the toughest challenge I’ve ever had to face physically and mentally, but when I’m on that mountain the sheer determination and courage I have seen from Nicola over the last 3 months will help me drive forward and reach my goal.
