Mount Snowdon Fundraising Challenge 2024
Donation protected
23 residents from Tameside, Oldham & Manchester have teamed up to climb Mount Snowdon on Sunday 3rd March 2024! The aim of the challenge is to raise funds for the Mayoral Charities of Tameside & Oldham.
The role of the Mayor is to be an ambassador and represent the Borough at a variety of events and functions. As an ambassador, the Mayor is committed to raising the profile of the Borough and forging links with the private, voluntary and public sector.
The charities chosen by the Mayor of Tameside (Cllr Tafheen Sharif JP) are:
• Home-Start - which helps young and vulnerable families
• We Shall Overcome - helping our homeless
• West African Development - which supports Tameside’s ethnic minorities
The Mayor of Oldham (Dr. Zahid Chauhan OBE FRCGP) has taken a different approach and launched a charitable program named “Truly Wished”. For further info please visit; https://trulywished.org/
We have set a target of £1000 which we hope to exceed. The fundraising page will close at midnight on Sunday 3rd March 2024 and from the total amount raised, we will donate 50% towards the Mayor of Tameside's charities and 50% towards the Mayor of Oldham's Truly Wished Program.
