Move a Village Family to Safety and Stability

The Village works alongside many amazing families as they advocate for the equitable treatment of their children at school. One of those families needs our help.

 

We have been working tirelessly with the family of a BIPOC, transgender teenager who has experienced a lifetime of racism, transphobia, and bullying in a local rural community. While we have tried to make inroads in the local school, change is not coming fast enough to keep this young person safe.

 

We have identified an opportunity for this family to purchase a home in the Ithaca City School District. Thanks to the generous support of Alternatives Federal Credit Union , we are halfway to our goal of raising $40,000 to make this relocation a reality.

 

We need your help to get this family the rest of the way home. If we can raise $20,000 by June 15th, this family will be able to fulfill their dreams of homeownership and bring their child to safety.
