Move Mountains for Madeline

My sister Madeline "Maddie" Lindsay Young was in a motorcycle accident Saturday October 21st, 2017. She is currently in the level 8 trauma unit in Auckland City Hospital in New Zealand. She has been studying at the University of Auckland for the last couple of years.

She suffered serious trauma to her head and neck area and has blood on her brain. She is currently in a medically induced coma to prevent brain damage. Initial motor skills tests prove promising but she's not out of the woods yet. She has a broken eye socket, pelvis, and femur. She is scheduled to have a surgery on Monday (Sunday in the US) for her broken femur where they will add a metal rod as long as she comes out of the induced coma with ease. Other surgeries may follow. She has a long road ahead of her as the doctors are telling us she will likely be in the hospital for a month. Afterwards, she will have much recovery.

Multiple people have reached out and asked if we have or will have a GoFundMe Page set up. To be honest, its not something I'm all that comfortable with - but I'm doing this for my sister. She needs our help and people are offering to give it. There's a lot of unforeseen costs coming up. We dont know if the New Zealand healthcare system will cover all the costs since she's on a student visa. The doctors are telling us she will likely be in the hospital for a month and obviously will not be able to work, pay her rent, student loans, or travel fees to come home when she's finally (hopefully) out of the hospital. She will need a lot of rehabilitation. And she will need a lot of support and our prayers.

If anything please pray for healing. Pray for the doctors and the healthcare system in New Zealand that we dont know much about. Pray for her comfort as she only has friends by her side as her family is still thousands of miles away in the US until later in the week. Pray for our family, as we feel so helpless.
