For the past 4 years, my disabled mom Aimee has been stuck in a terrible apartment that her domestic abuser moved her into. He's stalked and harassed her as recent as last week, he's also my dad.
By October 31st, my mom will either be homeless or trapped surrounded by trauma, when all I want is for her to live a happy, independent life far away from my dad.
Any donation amount would mean the world to us. We need the money to move, and with every horrible thing my dad put my mom Aimee through, I want to show that there are people who actually care about the horrible things she's been through:
- Her mother Diane dying at 46 after a battle with ovarian cancer. In the 90's, my grown adult dad & uncle inserted themselves into my dying grandma's life to take advantage of my mom, who was only 20 & trying to process my mom's death, and raise her 2 younger siblings Colleen & Abe, who were only 13 & 3 years old respectively.
- BRCA-1 preventative surgery. In 2016 my mom got a preventative double mastectomy to avoid her 90% chance of getting breast cancer. Her body was scarred through surgery, and had surgery while being awake. My mom pushed for justice & got her surgeon Anne to lose her medical license, yet my dad never pushed to sue that doctor for the scars she gave to my mom.
- Her baby sister Colleen passing away from the same genetic cancer my mom got surgery to prevent. When beautiful Colleen died at 37, my dad told my mom to repress the fact that her baby sister just died "because it was Christmas". My dad knew Colleen since she was 13 and acted like as if an old dog just died, disgusting.
- Getting PTSD from a group of police officers in a case of mistaken identity. In 2017 she was in a convenient store recovering from surgery to get my dad a scratch card for father's day, when a cop aimed a gun at her thinking she was someone else. They then got on top of her, hand cuffing her & crushing the collapsed expander in her chest, which is supposed to heal after surgery. My dad was in a different state getting me & him evicted during this time, no support whatsoever.
- Being coerced by her ex-husband to settle her lawsuit against the police for $20k, instead of being there for her through trial for $650k! My mom told him she can't afford to give him money when after the lawyer takes 40% and her sister Colleen needed it to escape her DV situation. My dad then made himself my mom's payee and took her $20k settlement anyway.
- My dad drove away all of my mom's family, trying to take complete control over my mom just so he had a place to live & someone to use for pleasure. Her 2 sisters Kelly & Colleen felt horrible, & wanted to move to help my mom through her police/medical trauma, yet my dad insisted he could handle it all for her...
- Forced to sell her only car by my dad (whose had dozens of cars)
- Being made homeless twice from my dad. She lived in a motel with roaches & in another families basement during her surgical recovery.
- My dad making himself payee/caregiver behind my mom's back. He got paid $3000 a month to neglect my mom, living 45 minutes away from her by car & had 2 other jobs when he's supposed to put 40 hours a week & 100% care for my mom. Instead he leaves her with $8181 of rental debt & called the police as her paid-caregiver when she was just having an episode... Police, a massive trigger for my mom who had a gun aimed at her by a police officer.
If you read all of that & care even just a little, then please support my mom by sharing her story or donating as much as you can spare.
I'm slowly losing my eyesight, we're both too disabled to drive or pack moving boxes, & we have 0 family or friends to help move us along with 2 emotional support pets. I've reached out to 211, housing authorities, attorneys, agencies, & charities, none of them ever helped her.
PLEASE Share this fundraiser to help cover the moving expenses, and give my mom some accountability for what she went through:
We’re hoping to raise $9,000 by the end of October for a completely safe move. We need $3000 to stay in a temporary home in Florida while we wait to be approved for a home, $4500 to pay movers from Washington to Florida, $500 to move ourselves, then another $500 to move my mom's 2 ESA pets. Remaining expenses & anything raised beyond our goal will help furnish her new place & get basic necessities to live off of.
Thank you so much for reading, and please, please spread the word so my mom can stop suffering everyday for the past 9 years.
