Move steam locomotive SP 982

Southern Pacific 982 is in danger of being cut up for scrap!

In order to save Southern Pacific 982, it must be moved from downtown Houston, TX to a restoration site in Houston. We need to raise $100,000 to move it.

Southern Pacific 982 is one of the two remaining Texas & New Orleans (Southern Pacific's subsidiary in Texas and Louisiana) Class F-1 steam locomotives in existence and the only one in Texas. Built in July of 1919, she was placed into service in September 1919.  July 2019 will be SP 982’s 100th birthday.
