Movies & Mentor night Black Panther
Spende geschützt
Growing up in Thomasville, GA to now being a resident in Atlanta , GA I've seen a lot of representation in our community that isn't always positive, especially in the media.
I explained a story of an encounter with a young man and how he didn't know what success looked in relevance to him. A lot of underprivileged youth live in areas where they don't see necessarily the most positive influences on a consistent basis and it's time we take a stand and play our part in OUR communities.
Marvel's Black Panther is one of the few movies cast by a major film studio that has over a 90 percent black cast and shows people of color in a positive light.
I propose that we all come together and ensure that we extend a hand to these kids and provide them tickets to the new movie Black Panther, along with giving each kid a voucher for food/drinks Though it seems like a small gesture to us, it may open up a world of positive thought in each individual kid.
The goal
-Provide tickets for underprivileged youth. I've partnered with big brother big sister and several local schools in the Atlanta area.
-This will be achieved by reaching out to local mentorship programs and schools offering the experience to those interested, leveraging it as a community effort.
-With these funds we will schedule a private showing of black panther for students which will be chaperoned by teachers or mentors.
Thank you to all of those who have shown interest and contributed to inspiring the youth. Contribute what you can, anything helps!
