Moving and Post Eviction Fund for The Flower Lady

Donation protected
After 16 years of tenancy in her home, Denhi Donis, a senior and recent survivor of cancer and known locally as “The Flower Lady,” has publicly fought two Ellis Act evictions from Apple tech engineer Thorsten Gernoth and partner Blanca Estela Rodriguez since 2020. She was able to extend her eviction deadline so she could undergo cancer treatment, thanks to the hard work of the Housing Rights Committee and SETA. They were also able to secure her a legal relocation allowance to help her with some of her moving expenses. Regretfully, as she prepares for three surgeries, two of which are urgent, and the first of which is scheduled for 6/26/23, she has to vacate her home by September 2023. Click here to learn more about her situation.

Donis and her family are accepting any help that the community can provide to support her during this difficult time since the relocation allowance dedicated by current policies is not enough to relocate within her beloved San Francisco community. She not only has to vacate the property by September 2023, but also has to undergo three surgeries in the immediate future. There are numerous ways the community can rally and help her cause. She says that all support is greatly appreciated, no matter how small. Can't donate? How about donating a few hours of your time?
