Moving Forward: Project Amy Brooke
Donation protected
Two years ago, I was in a tragic plane crash that left me blind. My best friend Chad, and his little sister, Brooke, came up with a plan to build a house for my family. Now, instead of paying it forward, I'm paying it back.
Not long after my fundraiser, Brooke gathered the courage to walk away from a marriage that was not safe. She has, with superwoman strength, defied the diagnosis of mental illness, and fought hard for the liberty she had spent the last two decades praying for. Last October, she endured an intense treatment for PTSD that was both emotionally and physically painful. When she did leave, she knew she had a career and license to fall back on. It soon became apparent that her fall back plan had fallen through, The state licensing board could not give her a license because it had been too many years since she had worked in her field. For the past 18 years, Brooke has been a stay-at-home mom. Now she is a soon to be single mom of seven children. She is building a business from literally nothing but the wisdom and strength she has gained through her terrible hardships. She is a gifted writer. She knows her wisdom can and will make a huge impact. She knows there are many lives her work will touch. Her dream is to help women navigate through and process their experiences after being subjected to Narcissistic abuse. She is working feverishly to move things forward financially in her life, just as she worked to heal from the trauma she endured. She desperately needs some support right now to make it through this difficult financial situation. She and her three older girls are working hard to keep up and to take care of each other and the smaller children.
When I spoke to Brooke about a month ago, she told me that she has lost her car to the bank and she is also at risk of losing her house. Brooke is as tough as nails, and through it all has stayed true to who she knows she is. Kind. Generous. Wise.
When she created the fundraiser to help me build my house she called it Moving Forward: Project Smith. This is the second chapter. It is called Moving Forward: Project Amy Brooke.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any help you may be able to give, no matter how small. It is such a worthy cause and any donation is so much appreciated. The funds will be withdrawn and put into an account set up for this purpose in the name of Cindy Martinsen FBO Amy Brooke Granadino. They will be disbursed to her as they are needed.
