Moving on after leg surgery for Dan DiFonzo

Hi everyone! My name is Morgan DiFonzo and I am the proud daughter of Daniel DiFonzo. While visiting my dad this past June in Texas, what was supposed to be a fun filled time, turned into a tragic nightmare. An infection from a recent surgery to replace a stent in his right leg was infected and not healing. The pain he endured was excruciating & debilitating and ultimately landed him in the hospital and rehab for 2 months. The heartbreaking medical decision was an above-the-knee amputation of his right leg. It was the only way to not only relieve the intense pain but more importantly, save his life. The surgery thankfully went well and he is in good spirits (my hero to say the least) and he is finally back home adjusting to a more challenging life.

I'm reaching out to you in hopes that you can help out with the exorbitant expenses with which he is now facing. Insurance only pays a portion and the $20,000-$30,000 balance due is a huge burden for him to bare. His healing is estimated at 8-10 months and with no source of income, the stress is very worrisome. Plus, he will also need to purchase a vehicle specially modified to give him the ability to drive without a right leg. For now, the cost of relying on Uber, friends & delivery services for everything is quickly adding up. On top of all of the medical expenses, he also needs a prosthetic leg.

My goal is to raise about $80,000 to fully cover his needs for this next year of rehabilitating and surviving the next 12 months. Please know that any financial support you can give, no matter how big or small, will be immensely appreciated!
