Moving, Safety and Getting my Life Back

My Name is Phay and I'm a transgender twitch streamer. Recently I was attacked by various people online simply for being trans, and this has now spilled over into actions that directly threaten my physical safety. I am now needing to move for the safety of myself and that of my partner, as the police are unable to assist at present and they may be too slow to act should the worst happen.

Hi, I'm sorry we are meeting on these terms. I started streaming with the goal of making a safe space for Trans and LGBTQ+ people. LGBTQ+ people, like many marginalized groups often suffer a lot of hate online, so my hope is to make at least one person smile a day by giving them somewhere to hang out and have fun.

I've always aimed to keep my content PG with only the occasional cuss, because when I was discovering myself a lot of what was presented online was NSFW material. This didn't sit right with me and always gave me and many other people the impression that being trans was something inherently lewd or adult. While times have changed substantially since then I still feel that it is beneficial for me to provide a positive non NSFW environment for people who might also be going through a time of self discovery. I aim to be someone who can show that being trans, isn't anything to be ashamed of nor is it their sole defining trait.

Sorry for the rambling intro. Now ill get on to why I'm doing this:

As mentioned previously I have been the victim of targeted harassment and, due to the nature of the internet, the police are refusing to get involved in any substantial manner until things escalate further. It is quite common for victims of attacks like this to have their addresses, names, photos and other identifying information leaked with the intent to cause harm before the police will even begin to take the issue seriously.

This is compounded by the fact that I currently live in an area that isn't friendly to trans people and this has lead me to feel increasingly unsafe. If the harassment were to continue to escalate and the attackers follow the usual pattern of making fake reports to police with the intent to get me "swatted", an act all too common, I could very well be seriously injured or worse.

The goal of this fundraiser is to help me move to a safer area so that I can work and stream in peace, without the threat of retribution from anonymous online criminals.

The money asked is based on 5 months rent, and moving costs with food factored in. Due to health issues I currently work part time which has made funding this move difficult, even more so with the extra income I had from streaming now cut off for fear of further attacks. That said, I am currently looking for more hours in my current job, and looking for a new or second job in order to attempt to fund this move myself.

Please do not feel obligated to donate. It has been hard for me to even write this, as I do not want to ask for money, but friends and members of my community have asked me to provide a place where they can support me and this seemed like the best solution.

I am sorry that it has come to this. I hope that sooner or later, this will all blow over and I can go back to doing what I love and supporting the wider LGBTQ+ community.
