For Dawn

I'm just an old soldier who loves his wife. I have never asked for money before. It is humbling to ask for money after eight months of holding the financial line of copayments, ambulances and specialized care.

I'm former child star Dawn Lyn's husband. We've been together more than 25 years, doing the normal savings and investments for retirement. Our retirement was long-planned for July 2023. We both expect pensions from our careers with the Dept. of Defense. However, medical expenses are wearing down a lifetime of savings.

Last October, Dawn had brain surgery to remove a non-malignant tumor. It was covered by insurance. She was receiving daily therapy and continued treatment. While she's come a long way since October, she remains in isolation in such a delicate condition that she can't yet be discharged to a lesser skilled nursing facility.

Dawn is a genuine, sincere, honest and lovely person currently stuck in a situation not of her own making. She never used drugs or took the darker path many child stars did. A tumor surgery put her in this situation. If you appreciated her acting career, she'll be grateful for assistance. Her goal is to be healthy enough to play her part cast in an upcoming comedy movie when it begins production early 2024.

It is hoped successful, deep-pocket movie and television patrons will step in, especially with writers and directors on strike and SAG/AFTRA about to join them. Times are tough for the industry. Dawn has been a member of SAG/AFTRA since 1968 and her dues are current.

There are tons of good causes to support, but all I care about now is Dawn's recovery. The money will only be used for Dawn's medical expenses. With continued medical care, Dawn will make her spectactular recovery and comeback.
