Urgent Support for Valerie
Donation protected
On the morning of January 18, we received devastating news that Valerie was hit by an SUV while on foot searching for her daughter’s dog that got out of the backyard. The impact threw her to the ground causing a skull fracture lacerations on her head and face accompanied by a fractured wrist and a broken thumb protruding from the skin. She was immediately sent to Arrowhead Hospital and had severe bleeding and swelling on her head and face. She is currently in surgery and it has already been determined that she will need more surgeries to come.
Our family is completely crushed by this. Anyone that knows Valerie or as many of us know her by “Aunt Val” knows what an awesome, fun loving and generous soul she has. She has blessed everybody in her life with nothing but love and support. We know that Valerie is very strong and will continue to fight. But she has a long road to recovery ahead of her and she has 2 boys with cerebral palsy at home that depend on her.
We humbly ask for help from our community to assist her and her family during this difficult time. While her future is unknown, the financial burden that medical emergencies bring can become incredibly stressful and we are hoping to alleviate some of that for her and her family. All donations will go towards Valerie’s medical bills, future rehabilitation, and costs associated with her care and taking care of her boys while she’s recovering. Whether it is a donation, sharing this campaign, or your prayers, your help is deeply appreciated.
We are thankful for all of your love and support and ask for prayers that Valerie will make a full and speedy recovery.
Update: God is good! Valerie is back at home now and resting. She has family by her side to assist as needed. She still has a long way to go as she may need another surgery and lots of physical therapy but we are all very hopeful that she will make a full recovery! Please continue to keep Valerie in your prayers as she starts the rehabilitation process. Thank you for all the love and support everyone has showed so far! ❤️
