Our Laura

Our amazing friend Laura bravely fought breast cancer last year. She endured aggressive surgeries and treatments and all their nasty side effects and never lost herself to the disease; she remained our hilarious, kind and lovely friend. After being given the all clear, she could finally start having a family, something she wasn't sure would be possible naturally after her treatment.   At 17 weeks pregnant and the best she's ever felt, Laura developed an agonising pain in her arm.  After pushing for an X-ray, doctors found a shadow on her humerus bone. The diagnosis of secondary bone cancer was confirmed by MRI.  In the space of a few months, she had received the best and worst news of her life.  She has undergone targeted Radiotherapy to her bone, however, other treatments will have to wait until the baby arrives.  This type of secondary cancer is defined as incurable, or limited to treatments currrently available on the NHS (though thank god for the NHS) so Laura will be trying some emerging therapies once she is able to. It's crucial that she tries everything she can to be here for her child.  We are raising money for Laura to help not only pay for future treatments but to provide financial help during maternity and sick leave. She faces a fight ahead, worrying about money doesn't need to be one of them.  Thank you for your help <3
