Hello
My name is Barnett Bass and here is my story. In fall 2021, the doctors found kidney cancer while performing an MRI to help diagnose chronic back pain. They removed my left kidney and stated it was the largest they’d seen by the medical team. Biopsy of the kidney showed it would have been terminal.
In late summer of 2023, doctors found colon cancer, a brain tumor, and delaminating neurological diseases among other brain concerns. The GI doctor believes the colon cancer is removed; however, the neuroscientist discovered mirrored gamma bands ensuring I have active cancer. In addition, I suffer from severe neuropathy, balance issues, cognitive issues, and increased pain and fatigue.
In the late fall of 2023, my company let me go as I had become a liability due to falling and being unable to work more than 25 hours a week. A year has passed with no income or ability to work. More tests need to be run that I cannot afford. Like most of us, I still have a mortgage, utilities, and prescriptions that are needed. Social security, after a year, is still deciding on my disability, which has led to us relying on my 68-year-old wife’s retirement checks, only giving us just shy of $1000 a month to live on. EBT is helping, but they’ve only allowed me $350 a month. I am maxed out financially and running out of options. Please, if you could find it within your ability to donate, the money would be a blessing for the both of us. God bless you for taking the time to hear an old man’s story.
