Help us pay for our car

Hey, I'm Jess.

My partner and I are disabled and our kids are both dealing with mental illness. We need a vehicle to get to necessary appointments throughout the month. Our family hasn't had a car of our own in over a year, but we've managed to get by because our neighbor has allowed us to borrow her car when we need to.

A few weeks ago, our neighbor told us that she couldn't afford the car anymore, and if we didn't buy it from her by the end of the month, she'd need to junk it. She let us buy is at a very low price, but still more than we can afford on our budget. We were able to cover the title and transfer fees (barely), but only by postponing some of our regular monthly bills. Robbing from Peter to pay Paul, as it were. There is no way we can cover all our usual bills (twice) next month, the increased insurance, and paying her for the car.

Total cost of the car is going to come to around $900, including various fees, taxes, etc. Funds will go first to paying for the car, and then to paying ourselves back for the initial outlay and getting the postponed monthly bills covered.

As you might imagine from the cost, the car isn't in great shape, and any money donate above the $900 will go to getting it fixed up so it can last longer.
