College Fund for Susan's Kids

Susan Conradi Koppelman had cancer four times.  Yes, four. She faced each diagnosis bravely with grace, optimism and determination.  Unfortunately, this last time, cancer won.  Susan quickly became very ill and passed away a week later on Monday May 10, 2021, at her home, comforted by her loving family, with the knowledge she was dearly loved by so many.

Susan will always be sunshine,  joy and inspiration.  Susan was a brilliant production accountant. She was naturally beautiful, inside and out. Susan was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, coworker and friend. She always saw the best in people and inspired others to be better humans. Susan left the world a better place.

In 1993, I met Susan while working on the film "True Lies". I was the local hire without a lot of experience. Susan was generous with her knowledge and friendship. We worked on other projects too; "MADtv" and an HBO Comedy Special filmed in Aspen. Hard work and a lot of good times forging our friendship.

As with many friendships in the motion picture business, we did not see each other often enough. Luckily, I visited Susan the day before she passed away. I held her hand and promised to help her family, not to worry. To fulfill this promise, I have set up this go fund me page because it has come to light there is a specific need I cannot tackle alone.

Susan's sudden passing has left an emotional void for her devoted husband, Paul, and their two amazing children Jackson (22) and Hailey (18).  They are suffering intense grief while dealing with many practical issues. Susan and Paul planned for the kid’s college. But, years of medical bills and the sudden loss of Susan's income has left a gap in college funding.

Paul and the kids are trimming living expenses but that will not be enough. They could use our help to bridge the college funding gap so Jackson and Hailey can continue their education and pursue their futures without financial worry.  Both kids are bright, talented and motivated. Jackson is in the Aerospace Engineering program at U.C. Irvine. Hailey is entering her freshman year at Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts to study Illustration and Journalism.

GoFundMe is one way we can all help Susan's family ease their financial worries while trying to cope with the emotional pain of losing her so tragically. Please donate what you can. Every bit will help and be appreciated beyond words.  Knowing her friends are stepping up to help Paul, Jackson and Hailey would make Susan smile and will make each of us happy for doing something worthwhile.

Many Thanks and Much Love,
