Mr and Mrs Choo Khuan Yong

Mr. and Mrs. Choo Khuan Yong were beloved members of their Malaysian community, admired for their kindness, resilience, and devotion to family. Mr. Choo, 89, was a hardworking and principled man, while Mrs. Choo, 88, was celebrated for her warm and nurturing spirit. Together, they built a life filled with love and left behind a legacy of integrity and compassion that touched everyone they met.

They are survived by their only daughter, Choo Ting Ting, 66, who was the center of their world. In their later years, Ting Ting made the selfless decision to stop working so she could provide full-time care for her parents as their health declined. Despite the emotional and physical toll, she remained steadfast in her love and dedication to their well-being.

Tragically, Mrs. Choo passed away in June of this year, leaving Ting Ting not only to grieve the loss of her mother but also to shoulder the financial burden of the funeral expenses. Heartbreak struck again in November when Mr. Choo passed away, compounding her grief.

Shortly after her father’s passing, Ting Ting discovered that he had left behind an unexpected debt of 12,000 ringgit (approximately $4,000 AUD). Combined with the costs of two funerals, the financial strain has become overwhelming. Despite her best efforts, Ting Ting is struggling to manage these debts, and the bank has begun pursuing her for repayment.

Through all of this, Ting Ting has faced her challenges with remarkable courage. However, the weight of her grief and financial responsibilities has been immense. While friends, family, and members of the community have rallied around her with emotional and financial support, the burden remains far beyond what she can handle alone.
